KJPAS 2008 Summer Performing Arts Camps
Greetings from the Artistic Director
Dear Performing Arts Camper,
Welcome to our tenth anniversary camps! It’s hard to believe, but was indeed ten years ago that I set out to create a performing arts camp in Virginia that would be as close to a New York theatre experience as possible. I only hire professional theatre directors and performers (including those with Broadway credits!) in my effort provide our campers with the most rigorous and well-rounded theatrical training program possible.
My staff is instructed to run their rehearsals just like a Broadway show, and treat our campers as if they were seasoned professionals.
KJPAS also serves as a local casting agency, and in the past year nearly twenty campers have been submitted for, auditioned, and booked professional paying jobs for television commercials, radio spots and print work. Alumni of the KJPAS camps are now studying at some of the top theatre schools in the country.
We will celebrate our 10th anniversary with a brand new location! All camps will now be held at the Roanoke County Center for the Performing Arts at A.R.
Burton School (where I serve as director of the program).
