BIOGRAPHY
Kevin Jones has spent the past sixteen years working in
professional theatre as an actor, director, and a musical director.
Credits include the Broadway first national tour of Disney’s
Beauty And The Beast, Annie at the Seoul Arts Center in Korea,
the European touring company of Annie Get Your Gun,
three productions of Evita, and two of Phantom.
At Mill Mountain Theatre, Kevin has conducted
Oliver, Nunsense,
A Christmas Carol, Dream Dream Dream, Yes
Virginia, There Is
A Santa Clause, Babes In Toyland,
and Snow White.
Seeing a need in the Roanoke Valley
for theatrical opportunities,
Kevin founded “The Kevin Jones Performing
Arts Studio”, as
well as
"The Opening Doors Foundation",
a 501 (c)(3) non-profit
organization. The Foundation is dedicated
to providing musical
theatre training and performance opportunities
for area students,
while at the same time providing free, quality
theatre to
the people of the Roanoke Valley.
The Kevin Jones Performing Arts Studio also offers theatre trips to
such locations as New York City and The Stratford Theatre Festival in Canada,
and performing arts camps in the summer, for rising first through graduating twelfth graders.
Kevin has served as the Artistic Director for Kimoyo at the Jefferson Center since its inception eight years ago, and for the past six years, he has served as Choreographer for the Roanoke College Children's Choir. Kevin continues to works professionally as an actor. Recent credits
include television and radio commercials as well as print ads for
Cox Communications, Advanced Auto, the Roanoke Times, and Western Sizzlin’.
Kevin can often be found around town playing
the piano and singing for weddings, as well
as playing piano for private and corporate
functions.
