The studio offers two nine-month training programs: The Musical Theatre Workshop and the NEW Professional Actors Studio. Students audition for the workshop program and then are invited by the artistic director to move up to the Professional Actors Studio as openings become available. The studio serves as a training ground for professional theatre and college auditions. Expectations are high, and acceptance to the studio is based upon an audition/interview process. The program is rigorous and well-rounded. Training includes vocal technique, song analysis, monologue work, cold-reading techniques, character development, audition techniques, theatre dance, sight-singing and ear training, music theory, musical theatre history, the business of acting, acting for film and television, improvisation, stage combat, stage make-up, picture and resume development and a study of the great method acting teachers. The student success rate is exceptional. Many have gone on to perform in Broadway shows, national tours, film & television, and regional theatre productions.
